The three ways answering services charge, the fees that hide in the small print, the questions to ask before signing, and what an AI receptionist costs instead.
There is no single answer, because answering services do not charge one way. The useful skill is reading a price page quickly and asking the five questions the page leaves out. This guide gives you both, then says what Delusia costs so you can compare like with like.
Take any provider's price page, answer those five questions from it, and you have a real monthly figure instead of a headline.
Delusia is an AI receptionist, not a room of operators, so its price is a flat monthly plan with a monthly allowance of AI minutes. Canadian businesses pay in Canadian dollars; the rest of the world pays in US dollars. These are the prices from the site today; the pricing section of the homepage is the one that applies if the two ever differ.
| Plan | A month | A year (two months free) | AI minutes a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | CAD 69 · $49 | CAD 690 · $490 | 100 |
| Professional | CAD 179 · $129 | CAD 1,790 · $1,290 | 300 |
| Business | CAD 399 · $299 | CAD 3,990 · $2,990 | 800 |
Answered in the same way the five questions would want: a minute is a minute of the AI talking to a caller; calls it transfers to your team and spam hang-ups are not counted; there is no set-up fee, no surcharge for nights, weekends or holidays, no charge for texting a caller back or for booking into your calendar, and no notice period: you cancel from the website. Extra minutes are bought as packs that do not expire: 60 minutes for CAD 55 ($39), 120 minutes for CAD 109 ($78), 300 minutes for CAD 269 ($195). The free trial is 14 days with 40 AI minutes, and no card is charged until it ends.
That depends on one number you have and we do not: how many minutes of calls you miss in a month. Count the calls that went to voicemail last month and guess at two minutes each; that is the allowance you need. Then read the overage rate on any per-minute service against the minute packs above. The missed-call calculator on this site does the other half of the sum: what those calls were worth.
Because they change without notice and differ by plan, and a stale figure would mislead you. Their price pages are public; the five questions above turn any of them into a real monthly number in a few minutes.
They are the plan prices. The checkout page shows the exact amount you will be charged before you confirm.
The AI stops working as your receptionist and only takes a short message, which is not billed, until the month resets or you add a minute pack. You are warned by email and in the app at 80 percent, so it is not a surprise.
Fourteen days free. Keep your number, forward the calls nobody answers, and read the transcripts.
